Karl-Bernhardin Kropf
is a native Austrian and was educated at the Universities of Music of Vienna and Saarbrücken (Improvisation with Daniel Roth). As a lutheran church musician with catholic roots he worked in the north of Germany (Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein states). As a lecturer and Professor of Organ and Organ Improvisation he was staff member of the Music Universities of Mainz, Lübeck (Germany) and Graz (Austria).
Feeling home in the church music culture and the wide landscapes of northern Germany, he took up his current post as Director of Music at the Marienkirche (St. Mary’s Church) of Rostock in 2007.
